About Shop Irish Writers

      Shop Irish Writers started as a Facebook group in November 2020. The purpose of the group was to provide a free space for Irish writers, of all genres, to showcase their writing, books and blogs, and to share links and information on where to buy their published books. It is also a safe and supportive forum, to connect with other Irish writers, who are on the same writing or publishing journey.

      The group is open to everyone with an interest in writing or reading. This gives readers and book lovers a chance to see the work of Irish writers in one place. The main group rule is that the only people who can post their work in the group are Irish writers living in Ireland or anywhere in the world.

      The group has evolved in such a short time and now has a team of group administrators who organise events such as First Friday Author Features, a Monthly Writing Challenge, Book Giveaways and Poetry Day events. There are also plans to develop a website and continue to support and promote Irish writers.
